The National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) offers three levels of certification: Activity Assistant Certified (AAC), Activity Director Certified (ADC) and Activity Consultant Certified (ACC).
Each track has qualifying components: Academic Education, Activity Experience and Continuing Education. Consulting Experience is a qualifying component for ACC level certification.
Applicants can also specialize in areas such as Assisted Living, Home Health Care or Adult Day Programs. Certification fees are affordable and will provide the certified professional with more available jobs at higher salaries. Others will know you are nationally qualified and offering quality activity service to your residents/clients.
At the request of Activity Professionals across the United States, the National Association of Activity Professionals Association (NAAP) is announcing another Activity Professionals certification option.
The NAAP Credentialing Center is organized as an independent body exclusively for the purpose of credentialing Activity Professionals that meet the standards and requirements set forth by the Center and have successfully passed the competency exam. More specifically, certification by this body will assure that the individual will meet the criteria required by CMS F-Tags 249 and 281 to direct quality of life programing for seniors and others that they serve.
This option is open to all Activity Professionals working in activities/Recreation with the elderly. Activity Professionals have the option of certification as an Activity Professional Board Certified (AP-BC) or an Activity Consultant Board Certified (AC-BC).
